Kalimpong,Oct 25:

Undertrial Puran Rai(28) the prime accused in murder of Christian couple Dominic Bhutia and Cristina Bhautia at Gitabling on June 19th , was found dead in toilet at the police cell of Darjeeling Hospital, police said today.

Darjeeling's Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Chaturvedi told that a departmental inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the causes of death of the undertrial.

Puran Rai, along with his father Hangjit Rai, was transferred to Darjeeling jail on September 11 from Kalimpong jail, as the latter had not much space for dreaded criminals.
