Tashiding Junior Basic School of Kalimpong has been conferred with prestigious Sishu Mitra Vidhalaya Purkaskar 2014(Child Friendly School Award) .The Award is given for outstanding contributions towards achieving the child friendly norms & standards. The award ceremony was organized in the historic Town Hall of the state capital on 11 th November on the occasion of the National Education Day in West Bengal .

The State Education Department celebrated the Day through a colorful programme at the Town Hall. The State Education Minister Dr Partha Chatterjee and the MoS, Education Dept, were present at the programme.
Teacher In charge of TJBS Lakhi Mangrati expressed her happiness over the prize. "our school is dignified with the award, it’s a pride of GTA too”

The Award Contain cash prize of Rs. 25000/-, the SishumitraVidyalaya Trophy and a Citation.

The school established in 1956 was also conferred with Nirmal vidhaylaya purkaskar in July this year.
