The demand for making Kalimpong sub division a separate district was raised in the state legislature yesterday. Informing HM MLA Kalimpong Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri who was in Kalimpong today said that yesterday while the issue was raised while participating in the house business. He said that Kalimpong comes under the largest Sub division in whole of North Bengal. Some places in Kalimpong takes three days to reach. The vast geographical area and the remote places demands a separate District he added. He hoped that the state will come with Some positive result in the context.
