Darjeeling Diocese Catholic Association Kalimpong branch today  took out a massive rally in town to denounce the Ranaghat incident where an elderly nun was allegedly sexually assaulted and the school was vandalized on 13th March midnight.

The  Solidarity Peace March against atrocities on minorities and women started from Mela ground which saw the participation of students from different missionary schools, nuns, teachers and the elderly who condemn such dastardly acts.

The rally saw about 4 thousand participant who after encircling the town submitted a memorandum to SDO which was address to Chief Secretary of the State .


Association Press and Publicity member Sister Poonam condemn the heinous crime against a lady of a grand mother age and said that the various incident on minorities all over the country have made us feel insecure. She said that the incident is a violence of Human Rights  and  gender discrimination.
