Duo arrested for trafficking, girl rescued from Delhi reaches home

Kalimpong , March 1, 2015:
Two people
under Kalchini police station Ramtang Tea estate were arrested few days
ago by the Delhi police from Delhi for trafficking a Kalimpong girl in
the name of employment. According to the police source, the girl went
missing from 2nd February in which her parents filed an F.I.R suspecting
it as a case of kidnapping. The police had no clue of her whereabouts
but with the help of MARG- NGO from Darjeeling, along with the
coordination of the Delhi police they were able to trace the girl’s
location and rescue her. With the help of the statement provided by the
girl, the police was able to nab the traffickers who were identified as
Pankaj Lama (21) and Rajesh Biswa (39). Meanwhile, the Inspector in
Charge, T.S Nath , talking to the media said that the duo had already
received money from the person whom they handed over the girl to, ‘I
don’t know if she was sold or not but it is confirmed that the duo
received their money from the man.’ Said the I.C adding to that he said
on 22nd February, a Sub Inspector Lakshman Pokhrel along with two lady
constables from Kalimpong were sent to Delhi in an operation. It was
known that the girl who has been handed over to her parents, will give
her judicial statement tomorrow where the duo have been send for a
judicial custody of 14 days after presenting them in the court and a
case of kidnapping has been booked against them.
