JAP submits memos to BDOs

Jan Andolan party which have
turned its attention demanding holding of Panchayat Election in
Darjeeling Hills have given continuity to its program. The JAP party
which submitted memorandum to 122 gram panchayat on 26th April today
submitted memorandum to 8 BDO offices of Darjeeling Hills.Kalimpong,28th April

Harka Bahadur Chhetri JAP president was present today while submitting
the memorandum to Kalimpong Block 1 BDO Bimalendu Das. The memorandum
demanding holding of panchayat election was submitted by Nayan Pradhan
to BDO in presence of massive number of JAP supporter .

Chhetri later speaking to media person said ' 'We have not the raise
for election purpose the party will continuously raise the issue until
the polls are held. He attack GJM party saying that in accordance with
GTA Act the law of conducting Three tier panchayat election is there but
dont know as to why they are not interested "
Dr Chhetri told just because of fear of decentralizing of power ruling party of Darjeeling never shows its interest in holding of Panchayat election he alleged.
Meanwhile
when asked about which type of tier does JAP wants to hold he said
holding of any tier of Panchayat election is important as the masses of
villages are suffering from last one decade . He said The Third Tier of
Panchayat polls must be done by amending Art 243(m) of DGHC act which
gave DGHC strength of Full fledged Panchayat in Darjeeling . This may
delay the process as amending process may take long time. So holding two
tier election will be best he said.
Meanwhile on 3rd May JAP will submit memorandum to Darjeeling District Magistrate informed Nayan Pradhan Party secretary
JAP
party is holding a all political party meet tomorrow in Kalimpong to
discuss further course of Action in this issue. Congress party who
attended the first round meet have denied their participation forwarding
that JAP have been doing its program single highhandedly.
