Handloom office starts 72 days tailoring coures

A 72 days training course in tailoring with pedal sewing
machine started here today. The course organized by Hand loom Development office
Kalimpong saw a participant of 20 women’s from different places is being organized
at Reiyukai hall under ward no 14. The department which falls under Industries
department GTA has already organized such training at Kurseong but the Kalimpong
training started today. Arnab Roy Officer in charge Hand loom Development office
Kalimpong informed that the training will continue for 72 working days . He
said each beneficiary will get Rs 100 daily as a stipend and at the end of the
course they will get a advance sewing machine whose cost in Rs 9,850. He said
the department will pay Rs 9000 while the beneficiary will have to contribute a
amount of mere Rs 850 . Nirmala Gurung the master trainer and Sunanda Lepcha
Assistant Trainer will guide all the 20 participant. The program was inaugurated
by GTA Sabhasad Sunil Pradhan in presence of Mridula Subba , Ward 14 ward councilor
