The Riyang police have arrested four persons in two different raid and recovered fake currency worth Rs 32 thousand  in the denomination of Rs 1,000 from NH 10.

All the arrested are from Malda District. Jagdish Mahato(29), Suleka Chaudary(35) and Nirmalaya Mahato (45) were buying some water bottles and cold drink from 29 mile in NH10 and were giving 1000 Rs note . Many shopkeeper had a doubt after looking them and informed the police after which all were arrested yesterday afternoon around 1 pm.Rs 22000 fake currency was recovered from the trio .

Meanwhile , soon after this Rehan Shiek (27) came with the same intention in the area , the aware shopkeeper again informed the police after which a team of Riyang Police arrested the boy . Rs 10 thousand fake currency was recovered from the Shiek . Shiek was two months ago arrested with fake currency at Kalimpong after which he was on bail.

Kalimpong police produced all four today at ACJM Court where two youths were sent for 7 days of police remand and two womens were sent to 14 days of Judicial Custody.
