Jan Andolan Student Union wins Kalimpong College Union election

In a major political developement Jan Andolan
Party student union known as Jan Andolan Student Union(JASU) today clinched the
Kalimpong College Student Union election by grabbing 12 out of 22 seats. From
2007 till 2012 GJM student wing Gorkha Jan Mukti Bidharthi Morcha ruled the
college union uncontested. Despite winning in almost all the college election
in Hills GJVM got a setback when the election result was declared today. The
TMC student wing and GRNM student wing did not open their account in the
election. Similarly to State election the main fight was between JAP and GJM
Student wing. In B.A First year out of 5 seats GJVM clinched all 5 seats along
with B.COM 1st year 3 and third year 2 seats taking the tally to 10.
Meanwhile JAP swept all three seats of B.SC first second and third year along
with 7 seats form B.A 2nd and 3rd Year. Meanwhile JAP too
clinched the 2 seats of B.COM second year taking the tally to 12 out of 22
seats. Manish Khaling the JASU coordinator after the wing addressing the media
person said “ This is a historic win for which we thank all the student who help
us to win the election. He added that JAP will now work on the betterment of Education
in the College and for downtrodden student”.

the market area.
TMC Student wing too thanked the
College and Police administration and congratulated the winning and losing
student wing. Kismat Niroula coordinator of Kalimpong College TMC chhatra
Parishad said despite our lost we will work for the betterment of our College.
Meanwhile GJVM who got 10 seats
have expressed hope that they will form the board. A meeting with all the 22
candidate was held at GJMM party office where Anil Lopchan expressed hope that
on 19th when the oath taking will be held GJVM will form the board.
He said today JAP too went to Delhi for separate state, if they want Gorkhaland
and are honest towards the demand they should come and lend support to GJVM.

P Dhakal said that a total of 71.66% of votes were cast today.
