Gas agencies implementing its own agendas in KYC form, complains CRF

The Citizen Right Forum (CRF) today submitted a memorandum to the Sub Divisional
Officer, LN Sherpa complaining about the confusion regarding the filling up of
KYC form related to gas cylinders and against the agendas of the gas agencies.
Despite
of the notice given by the Indian Oil Company in July to the gas agencies
directing that the forms should be filled by October 31, the gas agencies at
the last moment are informing the public to fill up the forms, notified the
forum to the SDO. Further, they said that it has been mentioned in the form
that for identification a person may submit any of the following, electricity
bill, telephone bill, PAN Card, Adhaar Card, Voter Card, etc. But the agency
has been asking the ration card and have further stamped it, complained the
forum. “They are tampering the Government paper which is a crime,” they
stressed. Further, they demanded that the agency should give the forms for
free.
The
President of the forum, NP Dixit said that the gas agencies are regulating
their own rules and regulations and the forum is against it.
To
this the SDO said that they will call a meeting with the gas agency owners
after they receive any complaints from the public.
On
the other hand, Dendup Bhutia, owner of Rinchen gas agency clarified that they
are not doing anything that causes inconvenience for the public, instead we are
simply checking whether the name of the consumers are authentic or not. Likewise,
David gas agency said that the ration cards are being stamped as per the
written instructions of the IOC.
