Issues & problems of NH31A discussed

Concerning the series
of road accidents and mishaps along the NH31A, the sub divisional officer LN
Sherpa today called a meeting with the different political parties, drivers’
association and organisations, GREF, NHPC and police.
The meeting at the
outset discussed on the appalling condition of the road, traffic, widening
works that have cropped up severe tribulations to the commuters and the series
of accidents along the NH 31A. No serious prevention on the same was taken up
like the building of the protection walls etc. The drivers association present on the meeting
alleged that the GREF has failed to mantained the roads proerly and the heavy
loaded trucks of the companies have totally damaged the road.
The meeting immediately
decided that a team of the GREF, NHPC, administration and of the political
parties will investigate such serious areas along the Highway tomorrow and work
as per the investigation. The GREF has been ordered to sprinkle water in the
dusty areas. The raod at 27 Mile and at Kalijhora will be mantained at the
earliest and the flow of traffic will be looked by the police under their
jurisdiction were also discussed.
The meeting had the
presence of the AI GREF; engineer NHPC, representatives from GJM, CRPM, CPIM, drivers
associations and others.
