The Nepali Sahitya Adhyan Samiti, Kalimpong organized the 16th Parasmani Puraskar Alangkaran Samaroh 2013 today. Poet Birendra Subba received the much coveted Parasmani Puraskar during the program. He received a shawl, eulogy letter, memento and Rs 10,100 cash from the hands of the chief guest, Dean of Sikkim University, Pratap Chandra Pradhan. Litterateur Bhupendra Adhikari was the guest of honor. The program was conducted under the presidentship of BM Pradhan, president of Nepali Sahitya Adhyan Samiti. The members of Ragyeshree Kala Niketan presented a welcome song while the students of Saptashree Gyanpeeth recited poems of Parasmani Dangal. Poet Sudhir Chettri also recited two poems written by Birendra Subba. Poet Sanjay Bisht presented a brief life history of Parasmani Pradhan. Similarly Yog Vir Sakhya presented the life history of Birendra Subba. Many renowned poets of Darjeeling hills, Litterateurs, writers, playwrights, principals of different schools, teachers and students were present.
