The Darjeeling District SP Kunal Agarwal who reached Kalimpong today said that the situation in Kalimpong has occurred because district police has been divided into two parts. Keeping in mind the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha’s agitation and the recent disturbed situations two platoons of IRB reached Kalimpong today. One platoon of RAF at Kurseong and Darjeeling each is undergoing training. They will be deployed within the next one week, said Agarwal.

Speaking about the deployment OF Paramilitary forces in the hills, Agarwal said that the notice has not been yet issued. Informing about the attack on TMC leaders, the SP said FIR has been lodged against Yuva Morcha activists and there houses are being raided.

The SP appealed all the political parties in the hills that not to create disturbances due to their personal issues.
