Kalimpong, March 01:
The Trinamool Congress Party high command has directed its regional party workers in the hills to expand the party. This was directed during a meeting held at Kolkata on 26 and 27 February. Chewang Bhutia the TMC leader from the hills informed that the party high command has given a green signal for the formation of the Hill TMC. The new party will be led by Rajen Mukhia of Panihatta as the president. Mukhia was before a leader under the Gorkha Rajya Nirman Morcha (GRNN). Now since differences have been created between the TMC and GJM the TMC is stressing upon making its regional party stronger. Bhutia also informed that the TMC leaders of the hills met with chief minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata.
Bhutia complaining about the informal recruitment of the ICDS staffs insisted that those candidates who appeared for the interview in 2002 should be employed. As per Bhutia there is no peace and democracy in the hills. The opposition parties here cannot carry forward their party programs in the public. This is the reason why the TMC leaders have decided to deploy CRPF and para-military forces in the hills.
