In one hand the Darjeeling- Sikkim merger has become a political buzz in the hills, while in the other, the Gorkha Rastriya Congress (GRC), the party which raised the merger issue, conducted postering at various places of Kalimpong today. “Darjeeling is the integral part of Sikkim and was never a part of Bengal. Permanent solution of this place is the unification of Sikkim and Darjeeling”, states a poster. “ With the unification of Sikkim and Darjeeling We can show solidarity in national politics ”, demands another.
Another poster notified that the Darjeeling area belonged to Sikkim and Bhutan, Bengal to have agreed on this when they issued a white paper in 1986" " With the unification of Sikkim and Darjeeling Sikkim will become a very powerful state in Indian Union"
