Kalimpong Krishak Kalyan Sangathan a registered federal organization operating in all of Darjeeling hills has send a memorandum to Hon'ble Minister for Environment & Forests and all the four municipality office of Hills through SDO office demanding to in cooperate the Three Hill subdivision into to Eco City project. The sangathan which has earlier  demanded to give due consideration to declare Darjeeling Sikkim Himalayan region as Eco sensitive zone to protect the ecological identity of the region now once again has raised its voice to inlcude the darjeeling hills in Eco city project.

Today the Sanghatan has laid the demand to bring all municipal towns of the region to be included in under the Eco City Projects. 

Bishnu Chettri Secretary of the Sangathan today told that the municipality in the hills if facing many problem such as drinking water , traffic, solid waste management etc all can be summed up if it is included in the project he added.

'In West Bengal Darjeeling is only a world known tourism place but it lacks proper planning, CM dream is to change darjeeling in to Switzerland this dream can be fulfill to some extent if Hills be included in the Eco City Project" added Chettri

The same organisation raised the issued in 2007 when it met The Then Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi and then in 2011 forwarded the demand to the CM of the state .

It has also given a suggestion to the Municipality to raise the issue.
