Mungpoo shut after no arrest

Mungpoo, the Cinchona town, remained shut all throughout the day on Tuesday called by the GJM in protest against the in activeness of the police to arrest culprits behind the attack on its supporters and party office in the area yesterday. The GJM yesterday had served an ultimatum to the police to arrest the police till 6 p.m. However, with police unable to arrest the culprits, alleged to be TMC supporters the GJM were out to give it a shut down. Two persons had been injured in the clash between TMC and GJM yesterday morning that brought life to a standstill.
However, the administration roped in CRPF jawans in the area to stop check any untoward incident. Schools, government offices,Cinchona plantations, road, business establishment remained shut. No untoward incident was reported so far.
