GTA Chief moves to Dooars
Kalimpong 1 April:
After seven days of stay in Kalimpong, the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration, (GTA), and Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha, (GJMM) chief, Mr. Bimal Gurung today moved for the Dooars.
Mr. Gurung today participated in an inaugural program of a temple at Purba Paiyun in Algarah in Kalimpong, in which a Panchmeshwar Dham temple was inaugurated there by him personally through his hand. Later he moved for the Dooars and accordingly in the evening he reached Jaigaon.
It was learnt that he will stay in Dooars for a couple of days during which time he will visit different places and take stock of the party’s organization as well as several strategies and plans will be discussed and chalked out regarding their demand of Terai & Dooars maujas to be included in the GTA. As per the sources, besides these, he might also discuss about the upcoming different polls to be held there.
Notably, on 26 March, he had visited Kalimpong and stayed there for a week after that. During his seven days Kalimpong stay, he announced and laid foundation stones for different development projects. At the same time, he also announced Rs. 3 crore from the GTA for the repair works of desks &benches of all primary schools in the GTA area.
Besides, the organizational and developmental projects works in Kalimpong, Mr. Gurung in between also spoke against the Sikkim government alleging that the government has learnt much from Darjeeling and having used the Nepali speaking people are trying to throw them out of the state. The state of Assam had also done the same thing before and now the Sikkim government is doing so today. Hence the people of Darjeeling should stop giving away their daughters hand in marriage to the Sikkimese as these people have made policies of throwing out the Nepali speaking people from there.
