American tourist dies after fall in Kalimpong

Kalimpong,10th Sept
An American
tourist dead body was recovered today near the Mongpong fountain under
Kalimpong PS area . The name of the deceased American is Ruben Lamar Fox (21).
Darjeeling's Superintendent
of Police Amit Jawalgi told today that Ruben Lamar Fox (21) from Pennsylvania and his friend Ethan Phelps, from florida, went on a casual ride by scooter on Sevoke Hills under Kalimpong area yesterday where they saw a Jhoda commonly known
as Ganesh Jhoda they saw a natural waterfall and the rocks which attracted them
and after which the duo climb up the mountain yesterday evening and when they
found a lake Fox tried to bath and in this he slipped into the water and died after
slipping informed SP .
Fire bridage officer were called from Malbazar
yesterday to recover the body but were unsuccessful due to difficult terrain and
darkness. Today from 6 am onwards again the operation started. With the full
help of local the dead body of Fox was recovered and later sent to NBMC for
Post Mortem. The exact reason for death will come from the PM report.
Meanwhile
a case of unnatural death has been recorded in Kalimpong PS. The American
Consulate in Kolkatta has been informed about Fox Death .
