Kalimpong,22nd Sept

As part of Golden Jubilee Celebration of our proud victory in the 1965 Indo – Pakistan War , a host of events were conducted at  Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Sevoke Road and Bagrakot Military Station by Striking Lion Division on 21 & 22 Sep 15. The highlights of the events were Felicitation of Veer Naris & War Veterans, Screening of Documentaries & Photo Exhibition of 1965 Indo Pakistan War, Musical Evening & Barakhana.

On 21 Aug 2015, a documentary on 1965 Indo Pakistan War was screened and it was followed by Photo Exhibition for all Ranks and School Children at Military Station Kalimpong. A total of 100 Army persons and 150 School children attended these functions.

On 22 Aug 15, a special interaction was carried out with 1965 War veterans at Kalimpong Military Station. The veterans shared their war experiences with the present generation. General Officer Commanding, Striking Lion Division addressed all ranks and felicitated the war veterans during the function. Brigadier Jasbir Singh(Retd), Vir Chakra,  who had fought the 1965 war, was also present amongst the total of 25 war veterans. The event was followed by Barakhana with the war veterans.
