Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee announced one thousand
model houses to the Lepchas and along with ten thousand toilets and
also declared the increment of the budget to the Lepcha board which
will increase with 5 more crore (i.e 35 crore, annual budget was 30
crore before.)
she handed a cheque of Rs.10 Crore for construction of “Rong Lee” houses
for Lepcha families. She too announced a School Bus for Dr Grahams
Homes School.
She announced to build two 100-seater Youth Hostels – one for Lepcha
Board and another for Tamang Board at Rs.5 Crore each. The hostels will
be equipped with solar lighting, solar heating, rainwater harvesting and
other modern Eco-friendly amenities.
At last Banerjee inaugurated a beautiful Forest Bungalow and Eco-tourism
Camping Facility at Jainti, Buxa Tiger Reserve from today’s programme
