Water scarcity has emerged as a major problem for the patients and their attendants at the Kalimpong hospital after the town has not been supply a single drop of water in last 10 days

"Hundred of patients have been admitted to the hospital and is facing severe problem informed Ajit Bhujel of Rongo who has been admitted 7 days before for treatment of Boil in his hips area .We have to carry from local dhara , we are buying bottled water to drink

Water crisis has affected to the normal surgery process at Kalimpong hospital, where situation have arised to delay operation for few day , citing non-availability of water.

Patient complained about sanity , we cant even go to toilet which is totally jam informed a handicapped Bittu Rai of kashyem. Rai added if they can supply us water then we admitted patient will raise fund and buy water.Dik bahadur Bhujel of Turuk Sikkim , leave was today but was held as there was no water for dressing his wound. 

The operation today was done by using reserve water , this may be the last operation as the reserve water has finished one nurse informed the press who visited the place today.

Dr S .ALI in charge in absence of Superintendent has said that the tank running is Klaimpong Hospital is dry and the emergency work has been practically stop.

The fitter of Hospital informed that it has a capacity of 1.5 gallon and 50 thousand litre is the daily amount of water used by patient .Its is the PHE department to supply water but in these 10 days they supplied only two days which led to acute scarcity informed K sherpa head fitter

Seeing the scarcity the hospital approached Kalimpong Municipality which through water carrying vehicle send almost  thousand litre of water which supplied a slight relief in between informed sherpa

After hearing the news that Kalimpong Hospital is facing severe water crisis Kalimpong Main Line Taxi Driver Welfare Association donated 11 thousand liter water through water vehicle today.

Kalimpong Town will get water supply tomorrow after 10 days informed Rajen Pradhan Superintendent of Water works department
