GJMM chief, Mr. Bimal Gurung today started his ‘padyatra’ from Dambar Chowk Kalimpong to bring awareness among the people on Gorkhaland as well as other present political issues of Darjeeling hills. After performing puja rituals at 11:19am at Damber Chowk, he along with his several supporters and activists started padyatra. During the padyatra procession, GJMM activists including senior GJMM leadership from different places in the hills participated in the march as well as shouted slogans in support of Gorkhaland. At the same time, a school band also performed in the march.

As per the GJMM leadership, during his padyatra, Mr. Gurung will visit different villages and houses to bring awareness among the people on different issues including Gorkhaland as well as he will also brief the locals regarding the alleged intervention of the state government  to the GTA as well as its alleged ‘divide & rule’ acts.

Tonight, Mr. Gurung will stay in Mangmaya and tomorrow he will restart the mission. Following the same trend, on 7 October, he will end his padyatra by visiting Darjeeling and participating in the GJMM party foundation celebration. He would again resume his padyatra towards Kurseong region from Darjeeling on 9th and then siliguri . He said this is that last padyatra for Gorkhaland and hope some fruitful result comes .
