One person was killed and another injured, when a (Truck) vehicle met with an accident and fell around 100ft down the valley from NH10 at SNT Dhara near Sevoke under Kurseong Police station area, last night.

As per the Kurseong PS, Inspector in-charge, Mr. Sukumar Ghosh, a Truck, SK-01 B 1911 loaded with iron angles proceeding towards Siliguri from Sikkim met with an accident at SNT Dhara  near Sevoke, at around 7pm, in which, one person died on the spot, while the driver of the vehicle was seriously injured.

He further added that the passenger who died in the accident is yet to be identified and presently his body has been sent and kept at the North Bengal Medical College & Hospital.

The injured driver of the vehicle has been identified as Rajbir Tamang resident of Salugara Vivekananda Nagar, under Bhakti Nagar PS in Siliguri.

It was learnt that the deceased had boarded the Truck near Malli- Kirney
