Dansberg Club hosts its Memorial Volleyball Tournaments

KALIMPONG, May 13:
As
similar to the past 22 years, the Dansberg Club hosted the finale of its
Memorial Volleyball Tournaments which commenced since May 06, 2012. The 15th
Dr Parasmani Memorial Tournament was meant for the boys whereas for the girls
it was the 10th Dansberg Memorial Tournament. The Kalimpong MLA, Dr
Harka Bahadur Chettri graced today’s occasion as the Chief Guest whereas the
Guest of Honour was the Director of Gyan Uday Niketan, Dhiren Thapa.
Teams
comprising of 14 players each from Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Kurseong and Mirik
participated in the said Tournament. In the girls’ category, the team from
Mirik won the title Tournament after a close competition with its opponents
from the Kalimpong Janta Junior High School with a lead of 25- 23 against 25-
20 points. Similarly, under the boys’ category the team from Darjeeling North
Point School stood victorious against the Kalimpong Sai Institute of Education.
The winners were awarded trophies and certificates by the Chief Guest and the
Guest of Honour.
