GJM readies itself for the GTA and Panchayat elections

KALIMPONG, May 30:
The
zeal and enthusiasm of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) is ascending for the
Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) elections and the Panchayat elections.
To discuss and deliberate about the same, a meeting was held between the Ward
Councilors of 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 No Wards, members and the supporters of
the GJM Sub Divisional Committee and the Central Committee.
The
Kalimpong Sub Divisional Secretary, Samuel Gurung from Ward No 14, Central
Committee member, Bijay Sundas from Ward No 15, Study Forum member, Dr RB
Bhujel from Ward No 16, Central Committee member, Norden Lama from Ward No 17,
Central Committee Organizational Secretary, Francis Dewan from Ward No 18 and
Central Committee Vice President, Kalyan Dewan from Ward No 19 partook in the
meeting representing their Wards.
Developments
under GTA were one of the topics of discussion during the meet. They also
informed that first GTA elections will be held followed by the Panchayat
elections. During the meeting Samuel Gurung clarified that the allegations put
by the oppositions saying that the GJM is keeping the public under illusion in
the name of Gorkhaland is baseless. “We have not faltered from the Gorkhaland
issue”, he asserted. Through GTA the GJM shall develop the region and prove the
State and the Central Government that the Morcha can run a State perfectly,
added Gurung. The GJM’s faith on other parties is no more, hence all parties
chapter close will be done, he concluded.
