Kirati Khambu Rai Sanskritik Sansthan celebrates Sakewa

The Kirati Khambu Rai
Sanskritik Sansthan today celebrated the Sakewa festival and also conducted the
organization’s 7th yearly session. The festival organized by the Rai
communities of Sakyong under the Presidentship of the Block II Branch
President, Tekendra Rai, witnessed the presence of the Kalimpong MLA, Dr Harka
Bahadur Chettri as the Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest during
his address said that it is commendable how the Kirati Khambu Rai community is
continuously working towards the preservation and development of their
tradition, language, culture and community as a whole. If they continue working
this way, then they shall definitely fulfill their goal. Dr Chettri also
assured that he will lend his contribution and support to the community in
whatever ways he can.
During the programme,
the people belonging to the Rai community flaunted their traditional attires
and they also showcased their traditional dance form. The Sansthan also
felicitated the students belonging to their community who had contributed in
the field of academics, eloquence and football.
