New twist in the separate Constituency demand, Highway Block Committee splits into two
MUKESH SHARMA
KALIMPONG, May 30:
The
tiff within the members of the Highway Block Committee who has been vigorously
demanding for a separate Constituency has brought a new and unexpected twist to
the matter. The Committee now divided into two i.e. Sevoke till Teesta and
Melli till Rangpo, West Bengal stand opposite to each other.
THE WITHDRAWAL PARTY |
The
representatives of the 8 branches under the Committee namely from Melli,
Kirney, Mamkhola, Tarkhola, 10th Mile, 11th Mile, 12th
Mile and Rangpo, West Bengal does not seem to agree with the Committees
decision of giving the Administration an ultimatum for they believe that they
are going against the law. A separate Constituency for the highway area was
everybody’s dream but due to some legal issues this cannot be fulfilled. Hence
understanding the problem the representatives said that they welcome the
Administration’s and the Party’s decision of not granting the same, said the
representatives while addressing the media.
On
the other hand a meeting was held today between the 2nd half of the
Committee members and the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) President at Chittrey.
During the meet the President assured them about formation of a separate Constituency.
Hopeful by the assurance, the Committee has withdrawn the ultimate date and has
said that they shall wait until May 02, 2012.
