Low quality rice being disbursed, complains Sundas

Complaining
about the quality of rice distributed by the Food and Civil supplies
Department, the Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxist (CPRM) politician Tara
Sundas approached the Department demanding them to provide good quality rice
grains. “What should be done with the low quality rice? Are we supposed to eat
or brew the rice and make a drink out of it?” Sundas questioned furiously.

The
Food and Civil Supplies Department Officer, D Bareily reciprocating to the
allegation said that as far as he is concerned the Department is not
distributing low quality rice. But still he shall go further and look into this
matter. Saying that he is not blaming any ration shops, the Officer added that
still if any shopkeeper possesses spoiled rice grains then they are directed
not to sell them. Any if any of them distribute such kind then the public
should inform the Department about it.
Further,
Bareily notified that from this coming week sugar will also be distributed
which has not been supplied since last 2 months. He also mentioned that though
the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee had said that from now on the ration supply
will be doubled and will be provided for 3 months, but the supply is on halt
since March 31, 2012. Only Jungle Mahal is been distributed with the same, he
added. Recently, 4 lakhs 50 thousand quintal of wheat has been disbursed from
the Central, but the hills have received it yet. Lastly, he said that the
Bengal Government is not at all concentrating on the issues of the hills, hence
the public should voice for it.
