CPRM insecure in their own hub, demands Administration’s interference

KALIMPONG, June 05:
The
members of the Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxist (CPRM) feel insecure in
their own hub i.e. Ragbul Cedars area. Since past few days the Gorkha Janmukti
Morcha (GJM) President, Bimal Gurng along with its workers and Gorkhaland
Personnel (GLP) have been residing in this area which is supposedly the CPRM’s
core joint. Hence, complaining about the same, the CPRM regional party today
submitted a letter to the Sub Divisional Officer.
The
CPRM seeking for the Administration’s interference in this matter alleged that
the GJM party members have been trying to threaten their workers and members
and are in a way disturbing the democratic and peaceful environment of the
area.
Mentioning
that the GJM Chief has been conducting development schemes by disbursing
various monetary and materialistic supports to the public there, the CPRM questioned,
that from where the GJM President is bringing in funds to distribute the same. Neither any Administrative Officers are there
nor are any representatives from the public, only a solo President continuously
laying foundations for bridges, Colleges and buildings, asserted CPRM. “He is defaming
the country’s law by doing so and the State Government is staying put in this
matter”, stated CPRM. Indicating the finances which came from the MP Fund for
construction of more than 150 houses in the hills are being misused, the CPRM
asserted that the funds should be utilized properly.
The
CPRM, Secretary Mohan Poudyal also alleged that the Administration along with
the Morcha is trying to bring down all the opposition parties in the hills. By
creating a rift between the Morcha and its oppositions in the hills, the
Trinamool Congress has been benefitting.
Likewise,
the Vice President, Taramani Rai also charged that Morcha instead of looking
after the issues of the hills such as the shutting down of many Tea Gardens,
poor road connectivity etc. are trying to threaten the CPRM’s cadre and
creating disturbances. “Hitlerism is being clearly portrayed”, stated the
furious Vice President. Saying that as similar to the Vidhan Sabha elections
the GJM is again planning to forcefully win by conducting pre elections the
undemocratic way before the Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) elections
Rai added that if the Government allows the public to vote on its own will then
the Morcha shall definitely lose.
Further,
speaking asserting that the recent demarcation is done keeping the GJM’s political
gains under consideration, Rai notified that 90% of the Highway area falls
under Kalimpong Sub Division, but according to the recent demarcation the
Highway areas are included under Darjeeling and Kurseong. “Why the Highway area
cannot be granted a separate Constituency?” Rai questioned. If it had been made
so then there would be much administrative convenience. But the demarcation was
done without consulting the other parties of the hills. Lastly, he appealed to
the public to be aware of these hitches.
