MUKESH SHARMA
KALIMPONG, June 14:

The Darjeeling District Superintendent of Police (SP), Kunal Agarwal

during his 1st visit to the town, today held hours of imperative meetings consecutively at the Kalimpong Thana and FI Office. The SP speaking with the media after the meeting notified that 3 platoon Police Forces are kept ready at Siliguri to maintain the peaceful situation in the hills, provided if it is disrupted by the Shyamal Committee report in the future. When asked about the unsolved Jeena Pradhan murder case which took place last year at Pedong, the SP clarified that he was not holding the post of SP when the incident took place; hence he has gone through the case details during the day’s meet. He also added that along with the above mentioned murder case he also took details of the recent case in which accused Sonam Dorjee Bhutia had managed to flee from behind the bars. It may be recalled that Bhutia has been charged of looting the public by introducing himself either as an IB Official or as a Custom Officer. He had managed to abscond from Police remand on May 31, 2012.
