Darjeeling District SP holds imperative meets at Kalimpong Thana and FI Office

KALIMPONG, June 14:
The Darjeeling District Superintendent of Police (SP), Kunal Agarwal
during his
1st visit to the town, today held hours of imperative meetings consecutively at
the Kalimpong Thana and FI Office. The SP speaking with the media after the
meeting notified that 3 platoon Police Forces are kept ready at Siliguri to
maintain the peaceful situation in the hills, provided if it is disrupted by
the Shyamal Committee report in the future. When asked about the unsolved Jeena Pradhan murder case which took place last
year at Pedong, the SP clarified that he was not holding the post of SP when
the incident took place; hence he has gone through the case details during the
day’s meet. He also added that along with the above mentioned murder case he
also took details of the recent case in which accused Sonam Dorjee Bhutia had
managed to flee from behind the bars. It may be recalled that Bhutia has been
charged of looting the public by introducing himself either as an IB Official
or as a Custom Officer. He had managed to abscond from Police remand on May 31,
2012.
