Land and Land Reform Office inaugurated along with laying foundation stone for Treasury Bhawan

KALIMPONG, June 20:
The Kalimpong MLA, Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri along with Jalpaiguri Divisional Commissioner AK Singh today formally inaugurated the newly built Land and Land Reform Office. Further, they along with the District Magistrate, Dr Soumitra Mohan, Sub Divisional Officer, LN Sherpa and ADM Gopal Lama also laid the foundation stone for the Treasury Bhawan which is to be built at the backside of the said Office.
The 4 storey Treasury Bhawan which housed the Land and Land Reform Office and other various Offices incurred much damages during the massive 9/18 earthquake. After the incident all the Offices located there were temporarily shifted at various areas which caused much inconvenience. Taking this inconvenience under account the State Government then released an amount of 41 lakhs for the construction of the Land and Land Reform Office. Also the estimated cost for the upcoming Treasury Bhawan is of 1.3 crores.
