Eight youths from Dooars join hands with GRNM
MUKESH SHARMA
Kalimpong,
July 21:
Eight
youths from Dooars and the surrounding areas today joined hands with the Gorkha
Rashtriya Nirman Morcha (GRNM). The GRNM President, Dawa Pakhrin presented the
Party flag to its new members marking the Party’s approval. During the same,
the President mentioned that the extension of the GRNM is at full swing. “We
are a national Organization and the GRNM is also a member of the Federation of
New State”, he informed. The Party shall expand gradually and more number of
people shall support the Party, he affirmed.
Further,
he mentioned that the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee by tagging the hill
people as ‘beggars’ has proved her thinking about the Gorkha community. “This
discrimination is the main reason for us demanding Gorkhaland,” he added.
Likewise, he notified that a agitation will be carried forward in which they
shall include the whole of the Dooars people.
Amit
Bareily, one of the newly joined members said that they had been fighting for
Gorkhaland but what they got is Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA).
The people of Dooars literally fought for Gorkhaland and many lost their lives
in this process, but in the end this adjoining area of the hills has been left
out, he stressed. Though a Fact Verification Committee has been set up but it
seems like it will not prove to be of much help. The GRNM is slowly setting its
foot firm in Dooars, he concluded.
