Show of strength on display, GJM files nominations for GTA GJM 13 candidates, 1 each of TMC and CPIM files at Kalimpong

The
13 candidates of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha along with their massive supporters
today filed their nominations dressed up in traditional outfits at the Sub Divisional
Office in Kalimpong for the upcoming GTA election slated on July 29. Along with
the GJM, a candidate each from the Trinamool Congress and the CPIM also filed
their nominations.

Tshering Bhutia for the 33 No Constituency, Nima Tamang from the 34 No
Constituency, Sunil Pradhan from the 35 No Constituency, Col Ramesh Alley from
the 36 No Constituency, likewise Kalpana Tamang from the 37 No Constituency, CP
Sharma from the 38 No, Gopal Ruchal from the 39 No, Dawa Lepcha from the 40 No,
Kalyan Dewan for the 41 No, Dr RB Bhujel from the 42 No, Chandra Lama from the
43 No, Samuel Gurung from the 44 No, Lopsang Lama from the 45 No filed the
nomination today.
The
day had the presence of the GJM Spokesperson Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri and the
SDO LN Sherpa. The nominations saw immense supporters of the GJM and seemed to
be confident that this time too they shall prevail.
The
nomination proceedings were held under tight security of the police forces.
For
the first time in the Hills, the Trinamool Congress candidate from the 43 No
Gorubathan Constituency also filed his nomination around 3 pm. On the other
hand the CPIM candidate Pyatu Lepcha also filed his nomination from the 38 No
Lava Constituency.
On
Monday the rest CPIM and the TMC candidates shall file their nominations but it
has not yet been cleared that how many candidates they shall placed for the Kalimpong
Sub Division.
Independent
candidate Khilan Pradhan has also taken out the nomination paper from the 44 No
Samsing
Kumai Constituency.
The
last date of nomination filing is July 9 and withdrawal is July 12. Results for the crucial hill poll
will be declared on August 2 and the GTA formation would be completed by August
10
