Wild elephant destroys property and crop
MUKESH SHARMA
Kalimpong,
July 15:
Soon
after the elephant attack incident at Lower Fagu Tea Garden on July 11, 2012
which claimed a life, another similar incident has occurred today at around 4
a.m. at Mal Busty during which a wild elephant completely demolished the
kitchen of one Chandra Kumar Chettri. The elephant further destroyed the Maize
fields. It also ate 5 sacks of maize placed beside the kitchen. Lastly, the
elephant destroying the cow shed nearby fled towards the jungle.
The
Neora Range, Beat Officer, Madan Tamang inspected the area after being informed
about the incident. He informed that the detailed report of the both the
previous and today’s incidents will be forwarded to the senior officials. The
locals of these areas are now tensed about the eventual rise of the elephant
mishaps.
