5kgs of rice per ton demands Driver Association

The Janmukti Himalaya National Highway Drivers Association (JHNHDA)
President Uttam Rai today said that the strike will continue till justice is
not imparted. The Association has demanded 5 kgs of rice per 1 ton within 88
hours of the deadline to the owners. The salary of the drivers are low and in
top of that the owners has been chopping big amount leaving nothing to the
drivers he added.
He also informed that today the representative of the
Siliguri Driver Association went to meet the FCI contractors but they were not
present. Rai has also thanked the Siliguri Drivers Association who has come
forward to support their cause.
On the other hand the owners and the contractors have been
conspiring against the drivers he added.
It may be recalled here that the strike broke out protesting
the monopoly of the owners and the divers.
