Tagore’s 71st death anniversary observed

Kalimpong, August 08:
The 71st death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore was observed today at the Milani Club, Kalimpong under the auspices of the Milani Club and the Sub Divisional Information & Cultural Department, Government of West Bengal. The said programme held under the Chairmanship of Headmaster, MN Bhattacharya saw the presence of Kalimpong Block Development Officer (BDO), Anandita Bhowmick as the chief guest.
After offering garland to the photograph of Tagore, both Bhattacharya and Bhowmick spoke about the life of Rabindranath Tagore. Various artists also presented Rabindra Sangeet and recited poems.
The Civil Judge cum Judicial Magistrate, Barnali Dasgupta, Indrani Dam, N Pal, poetess Nirmala Pradhan and Moti Ghoshal were also present during the function. The programme was hosted by the Club’s Joint Secretary, BN Pal and the vote of thanks was delivered by the Field Information Assistant, MT Lepcha.
