Kalimpong, October 14:

Representing the Central Hill Workers Association, the Kalimpong sub divisional committee President, Lopsang Lama and Secretary, DK Chettri today met with the State’s Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary.

During the meeting highlighting the workers under the DGHC, they demanded increment in salary under ROPA 2009. They also insisted on change in the State Government’s routine of monthly salary. To keep the computerization of salary account up to date was another additive demand as the workers of the hills are provided hill and winter allowances. They also demanded a inflation allowance. Further mentioning that the West Bengal Health scheme has not been initiated in any of the hospitals of the hills, they also demanded for the same.
