As a result of the agitation since theformation of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) till 2011, there are innumerable cases filed at the court against the GJM chief along with other GJM leaders. Everyday the Kalimpong court swarms with these Morcha leaders, who are there keeping aside their political, family and professional duties for the hearing of the cases. Apart from the murder case, all other charges against the leaders were said to be handled by the State Government, but still after 15 months, nothing such has happened and the deal has been just revolved around in talks.

After a hearing session the Kalimpong MLA, Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri while speaking to the reporters today said that the cases have been registered against him when he had gone to Delhi. “I am a representative of the public and my time is being wasted here. We do respect the legal formalities, but who will be paying back our wasted time”, he stated.

Along with him, the GTA Sabhasad, Kalyan Dewan and Samuel Gurung are also taking frequent rounds of the Court.
