26 year old, Sanjit Prasad was caught with drugs in his possession by the Police on Tuesday afternoon at Lohapool, 2 kms away from Rambi Thana. The accused is a resident of Rangpo, South Sikkim. The Police as per the information received from a secret source traced Prasad who was travelling in an Alto car bearing no SK01 P 2513. During the search, the Police recovered 14 bottles of Recodex, around 84 files of Spasmo Proxyvon and 27 files of N10. It has been informed that Prasad was ferrying towards Sikkim after purchasing drugs from Siliguri. He was produced at Kalimpong Court today.

Despite of various laws set the drug peddling business seems to be flourishing in the Darjeeling hills and its neighbouring Sikkim. Those caught by the Police do not hesitate to go back to the business after their release. Thus, the Police in a secret way conduct search operations.
