The National Voter’s Day was observed at the Ramkrishna Rangamanch in Kalimpong today. The information officer Mitendra Chettri, deputy magistrate Priyam Limboo and H Roy distributed new voter cards to the eligible citizens. Deputy magistrate Pritam Limboo educated the voters on their rights and power behind it. He also expressed his sadness that many of the rural people above the 18 years of age are unaware of their important right.

A quiz and essay competition was also organized and prizes were awarded to the winners. The day was also observed in other sub divisional offices.
