With an aim to promote sports in the Darjeeling hills and to make the game of football much more popular among the local boys, NHPC Ltd., Teesta Low Dam Project, Stage-III, Rambi has come forward to support the Winter Football Coaching Camp undertaken by Mungpoo Divisional Football Academy under its CSR Project “Khel Protsahan”.

Mungpoo Divisional Football Academy was established in 2010 and is affiliated to Kalimpong Veterans Club. Of late the boys of this academy have won the Independence Day Football Tournament 2012 held at Mungpoo. The academy has been established with an aim to promote local football talents. Services of football coaches from Kalimpong & Bloomfields Academy, Darjeeling are being utilized by the academy to train the local youths.

Sports items like Football, Boots, Socks, Leg pad/ Shin Guard, Bibs, Players’ Jersy & Pant set, Goalkeeper Gloves, Players’ Jersy &Pant set, Goalkeeper’s Jersy &Pant set, Cones (for practice) Goalkeeping net etc were provided to the academy by TLDP-III for this Winter Football Coaching Camp.

Teesta Low Dam Project, Stage-III will also provide an honorarium to the two visiting coaches during the winter training camp session.

The sports items were handed over to the Secretary of Mungpoo Divisional Football Academy at the Mungpoo Division Football ground by Pingal Kispotta, Manager(HR), TLDP-III in the presence of players and members of the academy.
N. Bhadra Singh, Manager(Civil) was also present on this occasion.
The officials of the academy expressed their thanks to NHPC Ltd., for its endeavor in promoting sports in the local area of Darjeeling hills.
