Kalimpong, January 31:

A meeting of the Gorkhaland Task Force (GTF) was held at the Gorkha Rashtriya Nirman Morcha’s (GRNM) office today. R Moktan, the GTF Coordinator after the meeting speaking with the media said that the meeting discussed and deliberated about the present political scenario.
Further, mentioning about the Chief Minister Mamata Benerjee’s address on Tuesday during a programme at Chowrasta, Darjeeling, Moktan labeled her statement ‘I can be rough and tough’, as reprimanding. Saying that the words are not of a CM, he demanded it to be taken back.
“The warning was not only for the Morcha supporters, instead it was for all those who are in favour of Gorkhaland”, said Moktan.
Further, he reiterated that GTA is a hindrance to Gorkhaland and it has been proved. After the formation of GTA, all the governmental programmes in the hills are conducted by the Bengal government, he said.
“If the Bengal government had to do everything then there is no use of GTA” Moktan added.
He also appealed that the GTA Sabhasads to now resign from their posts and dismiss the GTA and further come forward for the Gorkhaland agitation.
“The public is favour of Gorkhaland not for GTA”, he said.
The GTF Coordinator further informed about the force’s future plans. He said that their programmes will be focusing the country’s capital.
“Our party programmes will be non violent”, he said.
The GTF will also be going to Delhi during the Budget Session.
Today’s meeting also had the presence of Dawa Pakhrin, GRNM President, LM Lama, working President of Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxist (CPRM), JB Rai, Vice President, Kishore Pradhan, Pratap Khati, Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League (ABGL), GTF Chairman, Sukhman Moktan and PK Pradhan from the Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh (BGP).
