A meeting of Himalayan Forest Villagers Organizations central committee was held today under the presidentship of Govind Roka, president of the organization. In the meeting it was discussed the land parcha and patta has not been distributed to the people who reside in the forest areas. They alleged the state government of going against the forest law by not doing so. It was decided in the meeting that a committee will be formed to look into this matter. They also discussed and deliberated on whether to call an agitation so that the law is followed. The meeting also expressed dissatisfaction over the laxity of the Forest Right Committee. It was also mentioned that for the rail route to be set up from Rangpo to Sevoke clearance from the Forest Rights Committee is needed which is not taken of any importance at the present.
