Devotees flock the 10 days long Ram Katha



Kalimpong, April 24:

Todat, i.e. the ninth day of the ten days long Ram Katha, the 24 hours Akhand Ashta Jam concluded. The religious programme is being held since April 16, 2013 at the community hall in Algarah. The day also saw Bhajan- Kirtan performed by the Bhajan- Kirtan troupe from Bihar. Devotees in large numbers from Kalimpong and its surrounding areas and Sikkim have been flocking the venue since the day the programme started.
Since tomorrow is Hanuman Jayanti, a Hanuman Jhanda Yatra from Sri Satya Narayan Mandir will be carried out. Also the statue of Shridi Sai Baba will be laid tomorrow which has been presented by the families of Late Ram Bahadur Chettri and Late Dil Maya Chettri. The ongoing religious programme is being held for peace and also to develop religious feelings among the youths. Algarah is said to be developed as a pilgrimage tourism destination in the coming future.
