Public highlighted about Banking Ombudsman

The customers of Kalimpong were highlighted about the banking facilities by the Banking Ombudsman of West Bengal and Sikkim, MS Roy today. A programme for the same was held at the Shyama Devi hall of Thakurbari by the Chamber of Commerce, Kalimpong. Roy urged the gathering to approach their concerned banking officials when they face any issues. He informed that the Banking Ombudsman was initiated since 2006 under the 35 A Banking Regulation Act 1949. It was earlier introduced by the Reserve Bank of India in 1995. Under the same, issues related to banking services are solve within a month, he said. Petitions can be filed through letters, online and fax, he added.
Managers of all the banks of Kalimpong, representatives, members of the Chamber of Commerce and public were present during the programme.
