Kalimpong Police seized 40 boxes of illegal liquor from a truck near Chitrey Police raided a truck, WGY 9210 at Chitrey on NH 31A at around 6:30am in the morning today after getting information in which they seized different brands of liquors, Sikkim, Bhutan & others liquors mainly illegal liquors of Indian product .

The liquors were being transported from Sikkim and was supposed to be sent for sale in Kalimpong and Siliguri. The police also arrested the driver of the vehicle, Bhaichung Bhutia, resident of Melli Sikkim and the owner of the illegal liquor, Prakash BK under the Exercise Act 46 B. Later, the two accused were produced before the Kalimpong Court.

Within 10 days the Kalimpong Police seized more than 150 boxes of illegal liquor in Kalimpong region as well arrested several persons in this connection.
A police officer said that to ensure a peaceful environment we have been raiding and seizing
such illegal liquors and alcohols.on NH 31 A,under Kalimpong sub division area in the morning today.
