Tara demand completion of road

zonal secretary Tara Sundas has send a memorandum to the principal
secretary public work department kolkatta to interfere in the in
completion of the road under RIDF .sundas today told that the 5 crore
62 lakh rupess was sanctioned for building the road of upper reshi road
via dr.graham road conncting algarah a stretch of 9 km but the work has
not been done properly.he also alleged that the work was done under the
supervision of PWD kalimpong but the first three km road is to some
extent in a good shape but the rest 6 km road is in very bad shape as
path holes have appeared in it.these hurdles and path holes in such a
small span of time has raised big question on the work done by PWD said
Tara .As the rainy season is coming near and near tara has demanded the
principal secretary that the irregularities done by the local pwd
department is giving sleep less nights to the people residing in the
area as such the party has demanded that futher action of maintanance
and completion of road must be carry as soon as possible.he also alleged
that as long as the work is in the hand of local department officer it
will never be completed so sundas has demended to hand over the work to
kalimpong engineering department for its proper mainatance.he aslo have
demanded to the secretary to immediate transfer the department to GTA as
it is a transfer subject to GTA .he have send the copy of memorandum to
the PWD secretary along with GTA chief Bimal Gurung and DM
Darjeeling.On the allegation made by sundas on the pwd officer the
assistant engineer of the department subhod chettri has said that the
all the blame is wrong he said that the 9 km work has not been completed
and how can he put a blame on a work which is not finished ?he said
that due to lack of material the work has been temporarily suspended
but will restart as soon as the material comes.
