Forest villager complianed about non implementation of develpoment fund,warns of strikes

The
Himalayan Forest villager organisation kalimpong sub division have laid the
demand to implement forest village development scheme fund which according to
the officials of the organization has not been implement by the forest
department from 2007 .Today member of HFVO from all the 29 villager under 9
range gathered in the forest division office but failed to meet the officials
as they were not present.Kishore Thapa president of HFVO sub division committe
told the reporter that the forest department and its official is not at keen to
implement the fund which has been allotted for the developmental work of the
registered forest village.He informed that the organisation from last six
year met all the concern officials but no after getting no response we
have come here .The organisation have given a ultimatum to implement the fund
till 22nd july failing which the organisation will put a lockup in
all the foresty officials added thapa

Gazmer, the divisional manager (DM) of WBFDC’s Kalimpong division, informed that
With 438 square kilometers of jurisdiction the WBFDC’s Kalimpong division is
the largest territorial division in North Bengal. The lack of shortage of
staffs along with the agitation in the hills was another reason for the
corporation’s inability to carry out development work in the forest villages
cited Gajmer .He has given a assurance that the scheme will be implemented from August
and added that the money
sanctioned under the forest village development scheme has not been diverted
elsewhere, but a revised estimate has been recently submitted to the WBFDC
general manager (North) for approval.
