Last night heavy downpour have resulted in a accident at Tista river in NH 31 A .The incident happened at likuveer about 4 kms away from Tista Bridge .the incident is supposed to happen during the late midnight hour .Today the local people after seeing the remains of the back side of the truck SK 01 D 0993 informed the police which later searched the spot and found a challan by which the truck identity was recognized, meanwhile the rest portion of the truck is supposed to be swept by the high waves of the river tista along with the driver Mintu Chettri (51) resident of Tadong Sikkim.The vehicle with hardware good was plying from siliguri to Sikkim .Kalimpong sub division received about 35 mm of rainfall in about 4 hours last night.Meanwhile the last night incessant rain resulted in the disruption of N.H 31 A in the early morning due to landslide in lohapull and uprooting of trees at birik dara .
